DESCRIPTION: Masses of densely packed, deep blue florets, creating a brush-like shape of fragrant blooms.   Blooms mid-Spring, approximately 8-12" high, perfect for near pathways, or seating areas so they can be enjoyed for their colour and scent.

PLANTING: Plant in the Fall, in moist, but well drained soil.  Best in groups of five or more.  Do not remove foliage until it withers and dies off.  During this period, the bulb is pulling the nutrients needed to bloom the following year.  Cutting the foliage prematurely could limit the bulb's ability to rebloom the following year.

Blue Jacket Hyacinths will naturalize over time, provided the proper growing conditions are provided.  As the bulbs age, the flowers may not be as dense year over year.

ADDITONAL INFO: Squirrel resistant.  Hyacinths contact oxalic acid.  Bulbs themselves can be toxic to animals and caution should be taken around pets.  Hyacinth bulbs can cause minor skin irritation when handled.   It is recommended to use gloves when planting.  Washing hands with a household detergent often stops adverse reactions.
